Q: What steps should I take to qualify for a new cleaning solvent/process?

A: It depends on the end use, but these customers all did some sort of nonvolatile residue or particle analysis on clean tubes to verify that the solvent was working.

Q: Can I remove carbon, rust, and smut in a vacuum degreasing process?

A: Unfortunately, no. Solvents are not good cleaners for Rust and Carbon; you will most likely need a water-based process.

Q: Is the modified alcohol solvent compatible with both ferrous and non-ferrous metals?

A: Yes, in fact, it is compatible with all types of metals.

Q: Will KYZEN assist in converting to a new solvent?

A: Of course! We have a vacuum degreaser in our lab where we can run tests. Although we do not have a long vacuum degreaser, customers typically begin by sending cut-up tubes, and we should demonstrate the process on a smaller scale. After this, the full parts can be sent to an actual machine manufacturer to do a scaled-up cleaning trial.
