A: The long-term future of solvent degreasing is vacuum technology. It is isolated, sealed, uses very little solvent, is flexible, and for the user that must use solvent, vacuum degreasing offers cleaning for complex configurations, as well as drying on the parts with no drag-out.

Q: Where can I find the latest information on the existing solvent’s regulatory status?

A: The EPA and OSHA have excellent documents, source their sites, use the proper CAS number, and use the product name your existing solvent uses.

Q: Will degreaser operators and other nearby personnel be subject to the new recommended exposure limits?

A: Yes. The new exposure limits will apply to all operators and occupational nonusers, which means all personnel in the vicinity. The EPA covers these limits and requires compliance.

Q: What is the expected date when the new regulations will become law?

A: In 2024, the official notice has gone out, that you must meet certain qualifications of the SDS. In 2025, it will no longer be available for sale from distributors, with 2026 being the final date for use. You have time to convert, but we recommend you slowly start viewing your options and convert as fast as possible.
